Transcript text: Analyzing a Symbol
The three girls of the village were not beautiful by any standards. I asked the students if they saw a leader there. "No," they answered, "just girls." These girls are the plainer ones of our village - perhaps not unlike many of you - who do not see themselves as leaders. I asked if they saw intelligence, and a few hands went up. But leaders come in all colors, shapes and sizes. And those whom you think are the least likely leaders are probably the best candidates because they have a determination to overcome the slavery of their appearance.
"We don't consider looks when we hire them. We observe how they work and we ask ourselves these questions: 'Are I satisfied with this worker? If not, what is lacking?' We don't judge people by how they look but by what they can do."
-"The Leader in the Mirror" Ari Marin
