Part 1 Directions: How would the New Deal have affected you? Below is a list of -people living during the 1930s. Put yourself in the shoes of each of these individuals. Identify one New Deal government agency that could have helped each person. (You can find the programs in your chart of Some Important New Deal Programs on PAGE $\underline{280}$ of your Great Depression packet.) Then, EXPLAIN how it would have helped the person in a sentence. You must identify a different agency for each person - no repeats!
1. You are a farmer in a rural area.
The Agricultural Adjustment Administration (AAA) was a New Deal agency created to help farmers by reducing crop production to raise prices and, consequently, farm income.
2. You are a young person who can't find work.
The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was a New Deal program specifically designed to provide jobs for young, unemployed men during the Great Depression.
3. You are a factory worker with low wages, no union, and poor working conditions.
4. You invested in the stock market and bought on margin.
5. You are a "starving" artist.
