Transcript text: ENTERING INTERVAL NOTATION ANSWERS
Some questions ask you to enter an interval of values. To enter your answer, use interval notation.
Use a square bracket if the point is included, parentheses when the point is excluded.
Use 00 for $\infty$ (that's two o's, like the middle of the word "look"), and DNE if the set is empty.
For those not familiar with interval notation, here are some examples of how inequalities can be written in interval notation:
\begin{tabular}{|l|l|}
\hline \multicolumn{1}{|c|}{ Inequality } & Interval Notation \\
\hline $4 \leq x<7$ & {$[4,7)$} \\
\hline$x<2$ & $(-\infty, 2)$ \\
\hline \hline$x \geq 3$ & {$[3,00)$} \\
\hline \hline all real numbers & $(-\infty, 00)$ \\
\hline
\end{tabular}
Try it out: Write the interval of values shown in the line graph below.
Interval is: $\square$
